The patterns will drop but u need the classes to craft them. It took me around 30-40 runs of wellspring before I acquired the two additional glaive patterns. You can acquire patterns for different classes other than what you're using. I acquired my Warlock and Titan glaive patterns while playing my hunter.

Yes, the patterns can drop regardless of the class running the activity. However you can not forge the glaive unless you are using the character that matches the class.
