Typically the problem goes away after it wears in just a bit. Open slide, put gun in left hand and using right thumb push takedown lever from over the top of the gun. Much easier that way.On my P320 I took the slide off the frame, took the take down lever out, put a little TW25 on it, reinserted and worked it multiple times with the slide still off the frame. With it in the 6:00 position put the slide back on and return the lever to normal. Lock the slide back and work the lever to the 6:00 and back up multiple times.

The take down lever on it shows practically no wear. The problem I was referring to is only in X5/Legion where the take down lever can shear at the newer deeper magazine safety notch that is not present on 228/229. Why Sig had to put a safety in P320 and variants to prevent you from seating a magazine is a mystery to me.
