The solution was to go to the ship editor and just remove a component. I guess this 'refreshes' the ship or something. The razorleaf didn't even appear on the surace. Had this bug as well, so I loaded the automated from inside the doorway of the ship and created a manual save. Got it to work after reloading a few times, trying to auto course it to check its parts, then completely closing the game and restarting it.

Set a different ship as your home ship and make sure it's on the landing pad. Make the edits you want to make. After you're done with your edits, pay for them and exit the ship editor/viewer.
