Taking the ferry across Mobile Bay from Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island provides a good start for a tour of the area south of Mobile. The ride takes about 30 minutes and while on the water you get a good view of several gas rigs in the bay. Our only problem with the ferry involved trying to find out if it was running. The ferry service utilizes two ferries, the Fort Morgan and the Marissa Mae Nicole to carry passengers and vehicles across the Bay.
