Ruger security 9 problems.

Hello. I just signed up. I own and have owned many Rugers; rifles, semi-autos and revolvers. Generally, I have been very pleased with their reliability and accuracy. I took delivery of a Security-9 last week and went to the range yesterday. it is the most inaccurate out-of-the-box firearm I have ever owned.Ruger’s Security-9 pistols (see our reviews of the full-size and the compact models) ... Problem solved. Ruger’s just announced new versions of both guns — dubbed the Security-9 Pro and the Security-9 Pro Compact — without the thumb safety. Another plus: Ruger’s shipping the Pro models with tritium night sights and an extra magazine. ...It all depends on what you want to do with the gun. I'd personally recommend at least getting a feel for both guns, assuming you can find them. I do see Sec 9s around, but very few Glock 19s in stock. I have several Rugers, most recently adding a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 5.56. rugerP90freak and Jack Ruger.My Security 9 has had four FTEs across approximately 310 rounds since new. The first two were classic stovepipes and easily cleared. The last two were very odd in that the spent casing stayed in the barrel’s chamber requiring me to use a small wooden dowel to pry the casing out; not good for a home defense/carry gun!Security 9 owner. Hi all, New to this forum but hope I can get some feedback on a problem I'm having with my Security 9. Got this about 4 months ago and I really like the pistol. Probably put about 900 rounds thru it so far. Last time I was at the range everytime I inserted a full mag the slide went forward and the gun went into battery.

I did the worst as it has a different trigger pull than my P85 and P90. Grandson did a little better. Really the only 9mm he has ever shot. Son did good with it. 3 different shooters with 3 different results.

The Security 9 would be a great choice for an everyday carry gun. And if it is all you can afford, it would be a great End Of The World handgun. Of course, you would be better served with a long gun of some type, but don’t discount the Security 9 – it can reach out there 100-to-150 yards and hit a man-sized target, and it would sure make a ...

Security 9 Magazine Issues. I purchased the Security 9 a month or two ago. The firearm itself has worked great for me, no issues with any ammo I have tried (Sellier & Bellot, Blazer Brass, Winchester White Box, American Eagle, hand loads). However, the magazines have been giving me quite a bit of trouble.
