You have lots to choose from. Any 2.0, 2.4, or 2.5 V6 LU with the right length driveshaft will bolt up. Newer is better, of course, and if you replace a 4 inch lower with a 4.5, you'll need a different prop.Yes the XR2 would rev between 5500 to 6000 compared to 5000-5500 of the standard blackmax. It is slightly ported, 200hp exhaust and jetted carbs. It will give you a slightly better performance then the black max engine if it is still in good shape.
