Not sure if it's Epic or Heroic related. If your still trying to make this work, make sure that steam runtime is disabled. I installed today GTA v by Heroic. It works on desktop mode, but in gaming mode I think the link is broken because nothing happens and steam come back to the library.

GTA IV on steam deck is brilliant. This game looks and plays so good on the deck. Last time I played was on xbox 360 and the graphics are so much better. I wish they had done an update for the Series X rather than just having unlocked framerate but with rockstar will never happen. Also the option to set frame rate is brilliant.
