This again.. hmm. Said it many times; I own both a Mossberg 500 and a 870 and the 870 is a much better gun. Few things have been mentioned, like the position of the safety on the 500 is kind of bad. Where I really notice the difference though is the feel of the gun. The 870 feels solid all the way around, the Mossberg is less than solid feeling.

I like the look and features of the nova, but the mossbergs I hear can really take a beating. I also like that the mossberg guns come with ported barrels.
