The inside is a clean as if I just built it, there is NO top edge on the cylinders and the bearings look great. The pistons look like new except for the carbon on top and are stamped .040.

The 3970010 block casting number was used from 1969-1979.... But the "AAB" code narrows it down to the 1976 model C-60 (big truck chassis) like a grain truck, heating oil delivery truck, Fire tanker truck, etc. So block is a 1976. Listed as 8.5-1, but will actually measure out a bit lower than that, more like 8.1-8.2:1.

This is passenger side between the core plugs. Block code (in the usual place) confirmed as 3970010 "M" code next to this.
