How to know when vex strike force is happening.
Once you are prepared with your build, you can find the Vex Strike Force event in the Vex Incursion Zone in the Neomuna location, a location that rotates weekly. Players can know when the event is about to commence by looking at their map and noticing when the standard blue and orange event icon is present.

Vex strike force will not give dupes until you have all the others. So the only option would be that you are going for exotics tied to campaign completion or something like that. Lost sectors can give dupes, but they are heavily weighted to give the new ones you are missing. And Strike Force dropping new ones is a recent change.

You are correct. The only way to obtain new exotics is legend lost sectors or the legendary campaign. For swarmers they need to be unlocked by completing the campaign on legend then you can grind legend lost sectors for new rolls. Nah you can just get them from the lost sector. Vex Strike Force on Neomuna is a guaranteed exotic drop of what you dont have. There's a discord set up to alert when the event happens 👍. You need to own Beyond Light on the platform you're playing on to have Dawn Chorus drop. You can also get it from Vex Strike Force (if you own BL). I've been playing a lot of vex strike force events to try and get better rolls on about 5 exotics I use regularly (4 of which are gloves) and they will not drop.
